<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal direction radiation antenna with a small size, in which leakage of electric power can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In a horizontal direction radiation antenna, a ground conductor plate 5 is provided on a back surface 2B of a multilayer substrate 2. A radiation element 6 connected to a microstrip line 7, and a passive element 9 located at an edge portion 2C side away from the radiation element 6 are provided on a front surface 2A of the multilayer substrate 2. An intermediate ground conductor plate 10 located between insulating layers 3 and 4 and facing to the microstrip line 7 is provided in the multilayer substrate 2. A notch 10A having an opening at the edge portion 2C side is provided in the intermediate ground conductor plate 10. A U-shaped frame section 11 surrounding the radiation element 6 and the passive element 9 is provided around the notch 10A.
