<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus suppressing a temperature rise in a grip portion to enable heat radiation for reducing an internal temperature during suspending of photographing. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: elements (6 and 7) to be heat sources; a heat radiation plate (4) for radiating heat generated from the elements (6 and 7); a metal outer cover (9); a metal barrier cover (11) movable to a closing position for covering a lens tube (2) and an opening position for exposing the lens tube (2); and a heat transfer member (13) provided in the barrier cover (11). When the barrier cover (11) is located at the opening position, the heat transfer member (13) is configured to abut on the outer cover (9) so that heat of the heat radiation plate (4) is transferred to the barrier cover (11) via the outer cover (9) and the heat transfer member (13).
