<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball bearing that allows fracture of a pocket bottom part in a resin crown-shaped retainer to be inspected by sound without depending on visual inspection. <P>SOLUTION: The ball bearing includes: inner and outer rings concentrically arranged; a plurality of rolling bodies 4 arranged to roll between the inner and outer rings; a resin crown-shaped retainer 6 having a plurality of pockets 5 formed circumferentially for holding the rolling bodies 4, the each pocket 5 being opened in one axial direction; and a seal member fixed to axial ends of the inner and outer rings and extending in a radial direction. The resin crown-shaped retainer 6 includes a plurality of opened recesses 9 formed on the side axially opposite the opening side of the pocket 5.
