In a conventional fuel battery cell, when a fuel cell stack is configured by stacking the fuel battery cells, it has been difficult to optimize the performance of all cells and there has been a risk of deterioration of durability at a joint between a resin frame and a membrane electrode assembly due to the pressure difference between the cathode side and the anode side. A fuel battery cell (C) comprises a membrane electrode assembly (2) having a frame (1) and separators (3) holding the membrane electrode assembly (2) and the frame (1) therebetween, and has a diffuser portion (D) between the frame (1) and each of the separators (3). In the fuel battery cell (C), the performance of each cell (C) is optimized when configuring a fuel cell stack (FS) and the durability at a joint between the frame (1) and the membrane electrode assembly (2) is also improved in such a way that: in the diffuser portion (D) on either one of the cathode side or the anode side, a projecting portion (10) is provided on one of the surfaces of the frame (1) and the separators (3) so as to contact the other side; the other side and the top of the projecting portion (10) are bonded; and in the diffuser portion (D) on the other side, the frame (1) and the separators (3) are disposed apart from each other. |
