METHOD FOR RECEIVING LIGHT OUTPUTTED FROM MULTI-CORE OPTICAL FIBER, AND SEPARATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for receiving light outputted from a multi-core optical fiber capable of measuring crosstalk between cores with high accuracy even when the crosstalk is small, and a separation device.

SOLUTION: According to a method for receiving light outputted from a multi-core optical fiber, a layer C having a low refractive index can inhibit noise or the like from being propagated from a clad side to a core B by using a light receiving waveguide provided with the layer C whose refractive index is lower than that of a clad A around a core at a post stage of the multi-core optical fiber as in a depressed type (C) or a trench type (B). Consequently, components different from crosstalk derivation are reduced so that crosstalk between cores can be measured with high accuracy even when the crosstalk between the cores is small.
