<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component mounting machine capable of evading abnormal suction and suction errors by moving a suction nozzle according to a position of an electronic component inside a cavity, when applying a method of sucking the electronic component by the suction nozzle while carrying a carrier tape. <P>SOLUTION: By a camera 171, at an imaging position P2 positioned more in a counter-carrying direction of a carrier tape 25 than a suction position P3 and positioned more in a carrying direction of the carrier tape 25 than a removal position P1, an electronic component Q inside a cavity 210a, which has moved to the imaging position P2, is imaged.
