<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify, update and provide information to an apparatus without a connection interface to a network. <P>SOLUTION: Information recorded in a removable mass storage 32 is associated with a prescribed directory and stored. When the removable mass storage 32 is attached, a CE apparatus 31 reads information recorded in a predetermined prescribed directory and writes CE apparatus information into a predetermined prescribed directory.
