PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of easily and accurately measuring chlorine dioxide concentration.

SOLUTION: This protein for chlorine dioxide concentration measurement is composed of a fluorescent protein which has a tyrosine or a structure similar thereto in a molecule of a chromophore possessed by itself, and whose fluorescence is weakened by oxidation modification due to the chlorine dioxide. This protein for chlorine dioxide concentration measurement is made of green fluorescent protein (GFP) isolated from Aequorea victoria.
