<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detection device and a torque detection device that can identify a magnetic pole sensed by a magnetic sensor at an early stage immediately after the start of rotation of a rotating body. <P>SOLUTION: A rotor 1 comprises a cylindrical magnet 2 having a plurality of magnetic pole pairs. The types of magnitude of the magnetic force of the magnetic pole pairs include 2 types of a first magnetic force with a greater magnetic force and a second magnetic force with a smaller magnetic force than the first magnetic force. Three magnetic sensors 21, 22 and 23 are disposed around the rotor 1. A rotation angle arithmetic unit 20 detects peak values of output signals V1, V2 and V3 of the respective sensors 21, 22 and 23. Then, the rotation angle arithmetic unit 20 identifies a magnetic pole pair sensed by the first magnetic sensor 21 based on the combination of maximum values P1, P2 and P3 of the output signals V1, V2 and V3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
