<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast signal reception apparatus that reduces power consumption in updating firmware after a power supply is turned off. <P>SOLUTION: A television apparatus 100 (broadcast signal reception apparatus) includes a reception section 10 capable of receiving a television broadcast signal and a firmware information signal, and a CPU 40 capable of updating firmware in the television apparatus 100. The CPU 40 is configured to update the firmware in the television apparatus 100 by identifying a channel on which the firmware information signal can be received when a power supply 30 is on and a normal operation is enabled, and acquiring firmware via the reception section 10 from the channel on which the firmware information signal can be received after the power supply 30 is turned off and the normal operation is disabled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
