<p>Provided is an absorbent article that quickly absorbs bodily fluids and exhibits little rewetting. This absorbent article (1) has: an absorbent body (4) which absorbs the bodily fluids of the wearer; a liquid-permeable sheet (2) which covers one surface of the absorbent body (4), and through which the bodily fluids of the wearer permeate; and a liquid-impermeable sheet (3) which covers the other surface of the absorbent body (4), and through which the bodily fluids of the wearer do not permeate. The absorbent body (4) contains an absorbent material comprising: cellulose hydrogel particles prepared by cross-linking an alkyl cellulose derivative; and hydrophilic fibers that reach into the cellulose hydrogel particles from the outside thereof.</p>
