Provided is a head-mounted display for both eyes, which enables required content information to be seen without interruption, while preventing eye fatigue. The head-mounted display for both eyes, which is provided with a display unit for the left eye that projects image light onto the left eye of an observer, and a display unit for the right eye that projects image light onto the right eye of the observer, and displays images by making images corresponding to the image light projected on the left and right eyes visible to the observer, is further provided with a fatigue detection unit capable of independently detecting the degree of fatigue in the left and right eyes of the observer when displaying images, and a control unit for forcibly stopping the display of images by the display unit for the left eye or the display unit for the right eye, on the basis of the detection results from the fatigue detection unit.
