PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security of a portable terminal.

SOLUTION: The portable terminal of the invention comprises a terminal body and a plurality of panels prepared to be freely detachably mounted on the terminal body, and a function is made available corresponding to the mounted state of the plurality of panels. The terminal body includes: a mounting part where the one or more panels can be mounted; a detection section for outputting panel information indicating a mounted position of the panel when the panel is mounted on the mounting part; a storage section for storing the function to be made available corresponding to the mounted position of the panel; and a control section for making the function stored in the storage section available corresponding to the mounted position of the panel indicated in the panel information.
