<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient photoelectric conversion element in which resistance loss is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In the photoelectric conversion element, an electron transport part 2 and a hole transport part 3 are formed so as to be sandwiched between a pair of electrodes 1 and 1. At least one of the electron transport part 2 and the hole transport part 3 is covered with a porous collector 5 composed of one-dimensionally arrayed particles 4. A preferred porosity of the porous collector 5 is 70% or more. Preferably, the porous collector 5 is in contact with the electron transport part 2 containing a sensitizing dye.
