MULTILAYER COATING FILM FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer coating film forming method in which a multilayer coating film having excellent resistance to chipping is formed by a coating method of a three coat one bake process.

SOLUTION: A step (1) of applying a first color coating material (X) containing a hydroxide-containing urethane resin (U) obtained by the reaction of a polyol component (a) comprising a cyclic polyol compound (a1) having a nurate structure and other polyol compound (a2) with a polyisocyanate compound (b) and a curing agent (C) on a material to be coated to form an uncured first color coating film; a step (2) of applying a second color coating material (Y) on the uncured first color coating film to form an uncured second colored coating film; a step (3) of applying a clear coating material (Z) on the second color coating film to form an uncured clear coating film; and a step (4) of heating and curing the three layer coating films at the same time: are carried out one after another.
