A lithium primary cell comprising a positive electrode mixture layer including graphite fluoride as the positive electrode active substance; a positive electrode plate furnished with a positive electrode collector to which the positive electrode mixture layer adheres; a negative electrode plate that includes metallic lithium or a lithium alloy as the negative electrode active substance; a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode collector includes a stainless steel containing niobium. The niobium content of the stainless steel is preferably 0.2 mass% or above, and the separator thickness can be 50 µm or less.
