A discrete social network including a first participant and other participants who represent friends, family, or associates of the first participant. Each participant is assigned a primary lifeline. The primary lifeline is at the top of a hierarchy of sub-lifelines that represent the social groupings of the participant. The primary lifelines and sub-lifelines are made up of all of the digital memories that correspond to the particular lifeline. The digital memories stored in the lifelines are organized in chronological order so they can be easily referenced and provide an emotional tie to the material stored.
