<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce a possibility that a user is made to wait for a long period of time, even when the interruption of a printing job of a printing mode different from a printing mode of a printing job in execution is indicated, and can improve throughput for executing all the printing jobs. <P>SOLUTION: A remaining time by the completion of a first printing job is calculated (A4). Furthermore, a change time of a printing mode is calculated on the basis of a printing mode of the first printing job and a printing mode of a second printing job to which interruption related to the execution of the printing job is indicated (A5).
