<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route search device which can present a better route to a user by modifying external information and/or user setting information so as to keep their consistency and effectively utilizing both of the external information and the user setting information. <P>SOLUTION: A route search device can be suitably applied to an on-vehicle navigation device, for example. Specifically, the route search device stores costs allocated to each link, comprises user setting information input means and external information acquisition means and store user setting information and external information. The route search device modifies at least one of the external information and the user setting information so as to keep consistency between the external information and the user setting information that correspond to the same link, and based on the modified user setting information and external information, modifies costs. Based on the modified costs, the route search device searches for a route to a destination.
