PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver that can achieve demodulation and decoding of a differentially-encoded modulation signal, which reduces CNR degradation.
SOLUTION: The receiver comprises an antenna, an RF converter, an A/D converter, a timing synchronizer, an even-numbered symbol detector, an odd-numbered symbol detector, a likelihood calculator and a processor for soft-decision decoding. Radio waves received by the antenna are converted into a digital signal through the RF converter and the A/D converter. The timing synchronizer synchronizes received timing of a symbol included in the digital signal with a desired received timing. The even-numbered symbol detector and the odd-numbered symbol detector detect even-numbered symbols and odd-numbered symbols respectively from the digital signal using the received timing. The likelihood detector calculates likelihood of getting even-numbered symbols and that of getting odd-numbered symbols, and multiplies the likelihood of getting even-numbered symbols by that of getting odd-numbered symbols, which are continuously detected, to calculate the total likelihood. The processor for soft-decision decoding executes a process for soft-decision decoding based on such likelihood.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
