Provided are: a nutritional composition for inflammatory diseases which has an excellent effect of ameliorating the symptoms of inflammatory diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, can retain proteins in the body of a patient, and is useful for improving a nutritional state; and an amino acid composition for inflammatory diseases, which is to be contained in the nutritional composition. The amino acid composition for inflammatory diseases comprises human essential amino acids and does not contain any human non-essential amino acid other than arginine. The nutritional composition for inflammatory diseases which comprises the amino acid composition preferably contains an oil or fat, a sugar, a vitamin and a mineral.
