<p>Provided is an instrument panel reinforcement for an automobile such that the strength and rigidity for supporting the reactive force acting upon deployment of a airbag device for a front passenger seat, for example, can be secured, and cost and weight can be reduced. Also provided is an attachment structure for an airbag device for a front passenger seat using same. The instrument panel reinforcement (10) is disposed on the inside of a vehicle instrument panel (30) along the direction of the width of the vehicle, said instrument panel reinforcement (10) being configured from an upper member (14) and a lower member (16) such that the cross-section is formed into a closed rectangular shape. A cylindrical collar (72) is disposed in the closed cross-section area (29) of the upper member (14). Then, using this collar (72), the airbag device (34) for the front passenger seat is fastened with a bolt and weld nut.</p> |
