This navigation device is provided with: a data-related information storage unit (5a) that stores data-relation information that prescribes inter-related that constitutes map data of the map database, prepared by an external map preparation unit (15); a navigation function executing unit (13b) that executes navigation, and a data access unit (14a) that obtains, from the map database, map data used in the navigation function execution unit (13b) during navigation, by referring to the data relation information stored by the data related information storage unit (5a).
