<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device in which a space for securely seating a tool to sufficiently stand for a load is formed in a connecting piece designed to clamp the tool (drill or electrode). <P>SOLUTION: The clamping device 1 for a tool or a workpiece includes at least one chuck and at least one holder 19 for the workpiece or the tool. The clamping device 1 includes an inner chuck 2, an outer chuck 3, and the holder 19.
