A seat belt retractor (1) having an inertia sensor (4), of which the inclination can be adjusted, to be arranged in the motor vehicle seat, and blocking device, which can be actuated by the inertia sensor (4), for blocking the belt shaft, wherein the inertia sensor (4) has a pivotable sensor housing (5) with a tooth system (7), wherein a pivotable blocking element (10) which is coupled with a frictional fit to the belt shaft (3) is provided on the housing (2) and engages in the tooth system (7) in a first position (I) in order to secure the sensor housing (5) and, on account of the frictional connection to the belt shaft (3), pivots from the first position (I) to a second position (II), in which it does not engage in the tooth system (7), in the event of retraction movements of the belt strap, wherein a positive guide in the form of an elongate recess (12) with a width which varies in the longitudinal direction is provided on the seat belt retractor (1), it being possible for said positive guide to be driven by rotation of the belt shaft, and wherein the blocking element (10) engages in the recess (12) by way of a projection (14) and executes a relative movement in the longitudinal direction of the recess (12) during rotation of the belt shaft. |
