The evaporator assembly (10) has a housing (12) and a porous evaporator medium (24) that is constructed with metal material, particularly metal foam, for receiving liquid fuel and for discharging fuel vapor in an evaporator chamber (18). The evaporator medium comprises multiple evaporator medium layers (26,30) of different porosity. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an evaporator assembly.
