<p>Provided is a backlight system in which unevenness in the brightness of a display panel can be reduced. A device for driving a backlight that illuminates a display panel, the device being provided with: a switching element having a control terminal and switching, on the basis of a drive signal applied to the control terminal, the current flowing to the backlight; a driver for outputting, to the control terminal, a drive signal having a duty ratio determined in correspondence with the brightness of the backlight; and a controller for controlling the time interval of the groups of pulses in the drive signal.</p> |
