Disclosed are an apparatus for automatic analysis and a sample analysis method thereof. The apparatus for automatic analysis comprises: a reaction unit (1) for carrying a reaction vessel and transferring the reaction vessel to a predetermined operation position, with the operation position comprising a detecting operation position (101); a detection unit (3) for detecting the analyte in the reaction vessel of the reaction unit (1) at the detecting operation position (101); a cleaning unit (6) for removing uncombined components from the reaction system; and separated injection units (502, 504) for injecting into the reaction vessel reagent or/and sample; wherein the reaction unit (1) is provided with an incubation position for liquid incubation in the reaction vessel. In the present invention, the reaction unit having the incubation function and the cleaning unit having the cleaning and separating functions are disposed separately, so as to enable the incubation and cleaning/separation of the reaction vessel to be separately carried out in different units, thus preventing incubation and cleaning/separation from affecting each other, making the analysis and testing of the automatic analysis apparatus more flexible, and improving the operation efficiency of the analysis apparatus.
