<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reading device capable of suitably releasing a double read prevention function. <P>SOLUTION: A code position of an information code for an imaging area P is detected using a code position point P on the basis of the information code in a position of a plurality of divided areas. A decoding result is overwritten as a previous decoding result and stored in a memory 35, and a code position corresponding to this decoding result is overwritten as a reference position point Po and stored. If it is determined that the information code does not match with the previous decoding result, the decoding result of this information code is transferred.
