The structure (10) has a base knitted fabric formed from a mesh-forming thread system of a fringe. An auxiliary knitted fabric layer as a cover layer has parallely guided threads (13) meshed with the base knitted fabric and arranged transverse to a production direction. A bond between the base knitted fabric and the cover layer skips two wales. The cover layer is formed from thread groups (14) with the threads. The threads exhibit total decitex corresponding to a value of 84. The thread groups are meshed with the base knitted fabric by a satin- or velvet bond. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a textile structure for a back-illuminated advertising element by a knitting machine.
