The purpose of the present invention is to provide a latex particle for a measurement reagent, whereby highly sensitive measurement is possible even when measuring a sample in which the concentration of the detected substance is low. This latex particle for a measurement reagent comprises a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing polymerizable monomers (a) through (c) in an aqueous medium containing 7.5-25 wt% of a C1-4 alcohol, without the use of a surfactant, where (a) represents a polymerizable monomer having a phenyl group, (b) represents a polymerizable monomer having a phenyl group and a salt of sulfonic acid, and (c) represents a polymerizable monomer having a naphthyl group.
