<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning device in which displacement between a catalyst structure and a cushioning material can be restrained, even when strong vibration is given in the process of use, without increasing the pressure of the cushioning material to the catalyst structure. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning device is obtained by housing the catalyst structure 3, on which a metal catalyst is carried and supported, into a cylindrical container 1 while interposing the cushioning material 2 between them. The catalyst structure 3 comprises the sheet-like catalyst structure 3 obtained by a wet papermaking method, and is press-fitted into the cushioning material 2 and fixed therein. In particular, a fiber orientation h is formed on a plane abutted on the cushioning material 2 in the catalyst structure 3, in the direction almost perpendicular to such a direction that the catalyst structure 3 is press-fitted into the cushioning material 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
