<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element suitable for a solar battery or the like comprised of compound semiconductor, which can reduce the usage of rare metal such as In, and can obtain high photoelectric conversion efficiency without depending on a vacuum process expensive in manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element includes a light absorbing layer made of a compound containing at least copper, zinc and sulfur. The compound containing copper, zinc and sulfur preferably has a composition of Cu<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Zn<SB POS="POST">y</SB>S<SB POS="POST">z</SB>(x=2; y=1.5 to 2.5; z=2.5 to 3.5; and x+y+z=7). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
