<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program and the like capable of inserting the necessary number of spaces for a part that a user intends. <P>SOLUTION: A personal computer 1, when causing a display unit 14 to display a plurality of candidate character strings to be input in an input row, acquires a character string in a previous row of the input row by a control unit. The control unit associates the acquired character string in the previous row with the plurality of candidate character strings and displays them on the display section 14. The personal computer acquires from the control unit, position information when a single candidate character string is selected. Based on the acquired position information, the control unit determines the number of spaces for the selected candidate character string based on the acquired position information.
