<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the alignment of a printing head with a platen. <P>SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a conveyance path X along which paper is conveyed; the printing head 3 disposed facing the conveyance path X; and the platen 2 disposed opposite the printing head 3 with the conveyance path X between them, the opposite face being in a flat form.
