<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chord detection device capable of detecting a variety of chords musically associated with input musical performance data, particularly, musical performance data input in real time. <P>SOLUTION: First of all, a chord candidate which progresses subsequently to a start chord SChord and becomes an interruption type chord progression is extracted and registered in a chord list CList (step S123).
