<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engagement chain type lifting device which avoids the occurrence of inclination of a body to be lifted, while an article to be carried is vertically moved parallel with an installation surface and is accurately moved to a prescribed position in the vertical direction. <P>SOLUTION: In the engagement chain type lifting device 100, two chain modules 120 and 120 are arranged being separated from each other in the chain disengagement direction H, and a drive motor 140 is shared by two chain units 120U and 120U.
