The fields of use of nanoparticles formed from silica shells can be expanded further, making use for diverse purposes possible. A skeleton nanoparticle (1) is a nanoparticle formed from a silica shell (11a) and has an outer diameter (R) within a range of 30 to 300 nm; the silica shell (1a) is a cubic frame; the inside of the cubic frame is hollow; and pores (1b) are formed between quadrangular silica frames at each surface of the cubic frame.
