Provided is an imaging device with which a user-intended picture can be easily taken while a focus point and a blur extent are linked with each other. The imaging device comprises: an AF measurement unit for detecting the distances from the imaging device to a focused focal point and another point in a subject; a depth-of-field calculation unit for, based on the detected distances and an aperture value, calculating the depth of field of each point; and a preview image generation unit for substituting the difference between the depth of field of the another point and the depth of field of the focused focal point for a projection amount and generating a preview image.
