PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to successively form a source electrode, a drain electrode, and a channel, thereby preventing the level differences among the source electrode, the drain electrode, and an active layer from increasing. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(250) is formed on a source electrode and a drain electrode. The pixel electrode is extended to a pixel area. A protection film(260) is formed on a frontal side of a substrate with the pixel electrode. A plurality of common electrodes(270) is formed on the protection film.
