The invention relates to a multilayer body, in particular a security element for safeguarding security documents with machine-readable coding. The multilayer body has a first layer of a dielectric material, a second layer of an electrically conductive material provided partially on a first surface of the first layer, and a third layer of an electrically conductive material provided partially on a second surface of the first layer located opposite the first surface. The second and the third layer are spaced apart from each other by less than 100 µm. In a first surface region (30), the second layer is shaped in the form of N first coil-like structures (71, 72, 73) and the third layer is shaped in the form of M second coil-like structures (61). The first and second coil-like structures (61; 71 to 73) each have different geometries and different, predetermined resonant frequencies, which provide machine-readable coding. Each of the N first coil-like structures (71 to 73) and M second coil-like structures (61) shaped in the first surface region (30) are arranged in relation to one another in such a way that, in the first surface region (30), each of the first coil-like structures (71 to 73) is arranged to overlap at least one of the M second coil-like structures (6) in some regions. The area center of gravity of the smaller-area structure of two first and second coil-like structures arranged to overlap in some regions is no further than D/2 x 0.5 from the outer edge of the larger-area structure (61) of the two first and second coil-like structures (61, 71, 72, 73) arranged to overlap in some regions, wherein D is the mean diameter of the larger-area structure (61) of the two first and second coil-like structures (61, 71, 72, 73) arranged to overlap in some regions. |
