The dryer has a fluidized bed (33) that is provided in a drying chamber (29). The nozzles are provided under the fluidized bed for injecting the fluidizing medium (7). A heat exchanger (1) is arranged vertically with respect to the fluidized bed. The heat pipes (32) are formed at the bottom surface of the fluidized bed, with closed ends (2) projecting upwards toward the drying chamber for carrying heating medium. An independent claim is included for method for drying wet raw material.
