A floating bite indicator for fishing at night or in low light environments comprising a hollow floating enclosure 1 which is attached to a fishing line. The enclosure contains a light propagating device 2, preferably an electric lamp or LED, which illuminates when the floating enclosure changes its position from horizontal to vertical when a fish takes the baited hook. The light propagating device is connected to a sensor 5 to detect the enclosure. The hollow enclosure can allow access to the internal components via a water tight screw fitting along the enclosure body. The power source for the light propagating device is made of a battery cell 4 which can be rechargeable or non rechargeable. The power source can be isolated 6 to the light source and sensor to prevent power drain and overload during charge cycle. |
