A characteristic module is provided in a mobile terminal (20) e.g. mobile telephone for bidirectional data synchronization with a central unit (30) via telecommunication network. The necessary data for authentication of user of mobile terminal is provided in universal integrated circuit card (UICC) (10). The communication between UICC card and mobile terminal is established by bearer independent protocol. The communication between UICC card and central unit is established by card application toolkit transport protocol (CAT-TP). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) mobile terminal; (2) telecommunication network; and (3) application for data alignment. |
