摘要 718,328. Surgical cutting-appliances. MOLLEN, P., and MOLLEN, H. Sept. 1, 1952 [Sept. 1, 1951], No. 21878/52. Class 81(2) A device for cutting human skin comprises a magazine containing parallel blades which are displaceable under the action of a spring to individually and successively supply them to a discharge head which extends at right angles to one end of the magazine so that the blades are advanced in the head at right angles to the direction of supply, means being provided to retain each blade in the head during use. The blades 10, Figs. 1 and 2, are stacked in the magazine 11 to one end of which is secured a frame 2 of a puncture head 1. A feeding plate 3 connected with an operating knob 5 is secured within the frame 2 and may be withdrawn by the knob 5 against a spring 6 to allow a blade 10 to be fed from the magazine 11 to the puncture head 1. When in position for use the blade 10 is held in the lower part of the puncture head 1 by portions 8 of displaceable side pieces 7 which engage lugs 9 at each side of the upper end of the blade 10. The blades 10 are fed to the head by pressure provided by a coil spring 14, Fig. 3, one end of which lies within a passage 15 parallel to the stack of blades 10 and is secured by a pin 13 to a pressure plate 12 which is urged towards the head 1. At the end away from the head 1, the magazine 11 is hinged to a base plate 16. The head 1 and the base plate 16 are held away from each other by a stop (not shown). When the stop is released the head 1 is urged towards the base plate 16 by a spring (not shown) and the blade 10 penetrates the skin through an opening 17 in the base plate 16. After use, the blade is ejected by moving the side pieces 7 outwardly. A slidable stop (not shown) movable over a scale is provided to limit the approach of the head 1 to the base plate 16 so that the depth of puncture in the skin may be controlled. In an alternative construction, Fig. 5, the feeding plate is replaced by a carriage 24 which is slidably connected with a rod 25 surrounding which is a helical spring 27 which advances the carriage 24. The blades 10 in the magazine 22 are similarly fed to the head 23 by a carriage 44 pressed against the blade stack by a helical spring 47 disposed on a rod 45 on which the carriage 44 slides. The depth of penetration of the blade is determined by the position of a housing 34 surrounding the end of the head 23 holding the blade 10<SP>1</SP> which projects through an opening 33 in the cage 32 at the base of the head. The blade 10<SP>1</SP> is ejected by rotation of the cage 32 so that the blade 10<SP>1</SP> projects through a longer opening in the cage 32. The device is used in vaccination and the obtaining of blood samples. The blade may be lancet-shaped.
