The apparatus (1) has voltage-controlled actuator (2) for direct or indirect generation of a brake pressure. A control unit (6) that adjusts power supply voltage (Uv) of the actuator, so that predetermined output voltage (Uz) of the supply voltage of the actuator is switchable. An independent claim is included for method for generating brake pressure in motor vehicle.
