The device (1) has an impulse heating element (2) comprising a temperature-work surface for supporting film webs to be joined, where the work surface is associated with an electrical heating unit (12). The work surface defines a variably adjustable joint gap. Pressure profiles are provided at a pressure die, and locally compress the film webs that are engaged between the work surface and the pressure die. The profiles comprise profiled sections, which are spaced apart from one another and generate two line-shaped joining seams at the webs, where the profiles are made of elastic material. The pressure profiles are formed as a replaceable insert. The joining seams are formed as a bottom seam. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a film bag for storing a packaged product (2) a method for joining film webs with a film joining device.
