A child seat for a vehicle comprises a belt force limitation device, by means of which a force exerted by at least one safety belt serving for restraining a seat passenger of the child seat in the event of an application of force due to an accident is limitable to a predeterminable threshold value. The belt force limitation device comprises at least two holding portions 38, 40 separated by at least one wall 46 and at least one guide element 32 for guiding the safety belt, which in a first of the holding portions 38, 40 is held to the child seat. As a consequence of a force exerted by the safety belt upon the guide element 32 in the event of an application of force due to an accident with the wall 46 failing, the guide element is movable from the first into the second holding portion 40 and at least temporarily is to be held in the second holding portion 40 to the child seat 10. A third holding portion 32 may also be provided. |
