<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form low-refractive index antireflective film having high mechanical strength, good slipperiness and high scratch resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A composition for forming the antireflective film is provided, comprising a reactive silyl group-bearing crosslinkable component, a solvent soluble for the crosslinkable component and a lubricant (e.g. paraffin) 0.001-10 wt.% in solubility to the solvent, wherein the lubricant is mixed in such a proportion as to be substantially dissolved in the solvent. The antireflective film is obtained by coating a base with the composition followed by crosslinking the crosslinkable component by reaction. In the antireflective film, the proportion of the lubricant may be 0.5-10 wt.%. The crosslinkable component may comprise at least one compound selected from tetraalkoxysilane and bis(trialkoxysilyl)alkane.
