The invention relates to a method for transmitting an instruction between a transmitting point and a receiving point of a lighting system including a plurality of LED lighting units (10) powered by an electric power supply (52) outputting an electric signal with voltage Vn, characterised in that said method comprises modifying, according to the instruction to be transmitted, at the transmitting point, the electric signal used to power the lighting units (10) by momentarily reducing the value of the voltage of said signal and measuring the voltage of the electric power supply signal at the reception point such as to infer the transmitted instruction. |
